Samsung has started rolling out its Android 15-based One UI 7 update earlier this month. The update started in Korea and quickly spread to Europe, the US, and other markets. Well, it’s not rolling out anymore.
Samsung has decided to halt the One UI 7 update due to a major bug
It seems like Samsung decided to halt the update due to a major bug. Users have reported an unlock bug. Some users have reported that they can’t unlock their devices after the stable One UI 7.0 update.
This goes for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. In other words, it applies to all global devices that the update started to roll out to. It’s planned for more devices later this month, but this bug could delay things.
Some trusted sources confirmed the news. Ice Universe, for example, is a well-known tipster, and he said that a bug forced Samsung to halt the update. Samsung kind of confirmed it itself, actually.
The company managed to miss this bug despite beta testing
Samsung has been testing One UI 7 through its beta program for weeks, but this bug was somehow missed. We’re not sure how long will it take the company to patch it, but the update will continue after that happens.
If this ends up affecting the company’s rollout schedule, we’ll be notified. Samsung did release its official One UI 7 rollout plan in Korea, though the global units usually get the updates at the same time, so… there you go.
In addition to the devices we’ve listed above, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, Flip 5, Tab S10+/S10 Ultra, S23/S23+/S23 Ultra, and S24 FE are expected to start getting this update in April. Other devices will have to wait a bit longer.
