Google Fi just launched its best phone plan yet — and it starts at $35
Google Fi Wireless AM AH

Summary: To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Google Fi Wireless is rolling out its biggest update yet — introducing a new Unlimited Essentials plan at $35/month, significantly increasing data limits across its plans, and launching data-only eSIM support for tablets and laptops. Google is also offering limited-time Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Watch 3 deals for new users. These moves come as competition from MVNOs like US Mobile and Visible heats up.

Google Fi is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and with that, the team has announced a slew of updates to Google Fi. This includes a new unlimited plan, more high-speed data and even Data Only eSIM. This comes at a time when other MVNOs are really stepping up their game to compete with Google Fi, as well as the postpaid carriers like Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.

First up, the new Unlimited plan. Google Fi is launching Unlimited Essentials, which will slot in right below Simply Unlimited, which is now called Unlimited Standard. This plan will cost $35 per month, and offer you unlimited calls, texts, and data, along with 30GB of high-speed data.

Unlimited Standard and Premium get huge data upgrades

Google Fi is also upgrading Unlimited Standard, giving it now 50GB of high-speed data, versus the 35GB it had. It is also upgrading high-speed hotspot tethering from 5GB to 25GB. And it will continue to have Canada and Mexico coverage, and full connectivity on some smartwatches. All of this and it’s keeping the same $50 per month price.

Then there’s Unlimited Premium (which was previously known as Unlimited Plus). This plan has doubled its high-speed data to 100GB, and also upgraded its high-speed hotspot tethering to 50 GB. You still get unlimited data in over 200 countries, six months of YouTube Premium “on us” and 100GB of Google One cloud storage. The data-only SIMs do still exist, giving you access for tablets and laptops at no extra cost. And it is also sticking with the same price – $65/month.

One of the great features that I love so much about Google Fi Wireless, as a phone reviewer, is the data-only SIM cards. Allowing me to have coverage on multiple phones while only paying for a single line. That’s not going away, in fact, Google Fi is making it better. Google Fi Wireless is introducing a data-only eSIM. So now, you can actually use your iPad on Google Fi. This is going to allow you to easily add new devices to your account, up to 10. This is particularly important since many tablets are eSIM only these days (and some phones).

Google Fi has some incredible deals for new and existing customers

Lastly, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Google Fi Wireless, it is launching a few limited-time promotions that are available for new and existing Google Fi users.

New customers can get the Google Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel Watch 3 “on us”. This will get you $300 off the Pixel 9 Pro instantly, and the remaining $699 back over 24 monthly bill credits. And once the phone ships, Google Fi will email a code for you to order your Pixel Watch 3 and get $100 off instantly. With the remaining $349, back over 24 monthly bill credits. This deal is only available until April 29, or while supplies last.

Google Fi doesn’t mention specific discounts for existing customers; they are offering “deeper instant rebate discounts across all Pixel 9 phones.” Check your Google Fi account for the exclusive offers.

This is probably the biggest update Google Fi Wireless has ever had, and it’s a welcome update, after seeing MVNOs like US Mobile and Visible offer some truly incredible plans recently.
