Both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Fold 7 have been spotted running One UI 8.0 update. This happened shortly after One UI 7 stable update started rolling out to a handful of Galaxy devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Do note that One UI 7.0 update is currenty halted due to a bug, by the way.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 & Fold 7 have both appeared with One UI 8.0
Now, One UI 8.0 update for the two aforementioned devices has been spotted in two separate places. The one for Galaxy Z Flip 6 was shared by @Alfaturk16 on X, as the software seems to be instaleld on an international version of the Gaalxy Z Flip 6 for India.
It carries the firmware version F741BXXU2CYD7, and the April 2025 security patch. The update size is 3,16GB. The changelog does not reveal anything, though. This seems to be an early build of One UI 8.0.
Samsung’s upcoming ‘Fold’ device popped up on Geekbench
The update for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was spotted on Geekbench, actually. If you check out the listing below, you’ll see a Galaxy Z Fold 7 with One UI 8.0 on Geekbench.
The model number of the device that appeared is SM-F966U, and One UI 8.0 is, of course, based on Android 16. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to land in either July or August, we’re still not sure. One UI 8.0 could end up being included out of the box.
What’s interesting is that this model of the device ships with 12GB of RAM, based on Geekbench. We’re not sure if a 16GB RAM variant will also be included, but the chances are it will not, which is a bit disappointing. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is listed, but not its 7-core version, a proper 8-core model.
