KOF 98 Is First Arcade Archives 2 Game for PS5 and XSX
Hamster is gradually releasing a new arcade port of SNK's KOF 98 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S to kickstart its Arcade Archives 2 lineup. Arcade Archives 2 Neo Geo: The King of Fighters '98 has newly appeared on the Japanese PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. Hamster has also indicated on its official website that it will release the same versions worldwide, including in North America. The company has also published a webpage that explains the new features in Arcade Archives 2 that did not exist in the previous ports. Some of the brand-new features include 5-second rewinds and the increase of Original Mode save slots from 1 to 4, with an additional quick-save slot. Some of the games will also have an additional Time Attack mode and a Network Mode that lets people play online via the internet. The new Arcade Archives 2 version is available at ¥1,100 / $9.99. However, users who have already purchased the original Arcade Archives port of the same game on the PS4 or Xbox One will be able to get the respective newer console versions at just ¥330 / $2.99.
