Samsung is continuing to roll out the One UI 7 update, which had been delayed several times before. The South Korean giant initially updated its models released last year, such as the Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6. Now, it’s the turn of older devices, and the Galaxy S23 series is receiving the One UI 7 update in the US.
Samsung releases One UI 7 for the Galaxy S23 series in the US
Samsung is rolling out the Android 15-based One UI 7 update to the Galaxy S23 series in the US. The new version, available for carrier-locked units, comes with firmware version DYD9.
Reports suggest that the update is currently rolling out to the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra models sold by smaller carriers like US Cellular and Xfinity Mobile, with major carriers expected to follow soon. Similarly, the brand will soon roll out the update to unlocked devices.
When users install the 5GB update, they will get many features and improvements, including a redesigned user interface with new app icons and smoother animations. Additionally, the April 2025 security patch enhances the overall safety of the user experience.
The update arrives earlier than expected for the Galaxy S23 series
Samsung initially released the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S23 lineup in South Korea on April 22. The company was planning to release the update in May for all other markets, including the US.
However, Samsung surprised users by releasing the update earlier than expected. For now, the main expectation in the US is for the update to reach all major carriers and unlocked devices. This early rollout may also hint at upcoming surprises for other Galaxy models in the near future.
