Every month, every PlayStation Plus subscriber gets several free games as part of the online service’s benefits. While we aren’t quite at May yet, Sony may have accidentally revealed one of the free PS Plus games coming to members next month.
Until Dawn remaster might become a PS Plus game
Seen on the PlayStation subreddit, Reddit user Budget-Neat4750 posted an image of the PlayStation Plus section on PS5. While everything there mostly looks standard, the “Monthly Games” option features Until Dawn, implying that the horror adventure game is the free game for the month of April.
However, that is entirely not the case, as April’s free PS Plus games are RoboCop: Rogue City, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory. This may mean Sony may have accidentally pushed the image early, and is intended to promote next month’s free games for the online subscription.
The other wrinkle to this is the image used to advertise Until Dawn’s inclusion on PS Plus. It appears to actually be the key art for the remaster that was released in 2024 rather than the original 2015 release. However, other players who claim to also see the mistake confirm that clicking on the image either does nothing or brings the user to the 2015 game. It is possible that the wrong key art was uploaded, as the differences between the two are subtle, and that the 2015 version will be one of May’s free PS Plus games.
It wouldn’t be too surprising if Until Dawn was a PS Plus freebie for next month. The film adaptation premieres in theaters today. This would be a good way to generate more interest in either the movie or the game.
For those who just can’t wait to play the horror adventure, the Until Dawn remaster by Baliistic Moon is available now for PC and PS5.
