AMD’s new $299 Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB gaming GPU might get canned now
AMD is reportedly considering halting production of a new gaming GPU that was apparently lined up to cost just $299. According to a quoted partner of the company, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB could now be lined up for the chop, possibly as a result of seeing the press reaction to the 8GB version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti. The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is heavily rumored to be in line for a launch in the second quarter of 2025 (April to June), with most 9060 XT leaks pointing to both 16GB and 8GB cards being available. However, as I found in my RTX 5060 Ti review, there are significant benefits to having 16GB of VRAM on a mid-range GPU now, as it means you can enable high settings in demanding games that you simply can’t achieve with just 8GB.
