How to start The Sunken OneTo begin The Sunken One quest, you have to travel nearly all the way to the city of Kvatch, which is located to the southeast of the Imperial City. You can travel along the Gold Road from the center of the map and pass by Skingrad in the process, which is where you can find some answers for the mysterious Nirnroot Plants and Seeking Your Roots quest. Near Kvatch, you're looking for a small location called Shetcombe Farm. This is located right underneath the "Kvatch" text on your world map. Specifically, go right under the "h." At Shetcombe Farm, you can enter the single house in the area to immediately trigger The Sunken One quest in Oblivion Remastered. Searching Shetcombe FarmInside the house at Shetcombe Farm, you're told to search around the area to learn of where the owner could have gone. Well, even if you search every barrel, crate, and visible surface in the house, you won't find what you're looking for. Instead, you need to go to the table in the middle of the room and pick up the blue clay bowl that doesn't have candles sitting in it. By picking up the bowl, you reveal the "Slythe's Journal, page 1" note, which you can pick up and read. According to the note, the owner of the house, Slythe, went off in a nearby cave to deliver something of value to an entity known as "The Sunken One." If you look at your updated quest objective, you'll see that it points to the Sandstone Cavern, which is located only 100 meters from Shetcombe Farm. Picking up more journal pages in Sandstone CavernAfter you make your way to Sandstone Cavern, head inside and continue to follow the winding paths in the cave. Continue to go down paths, defeating enemies along the way, and eventually you'll stumble into a large cavern with a chest in it. On top of the chest is the "Slythe's Journal, page 2" note that you can pick up and read. The note details that Slythe ventured further into the cave even though he's almost perished several times trying to deliver his valuable item to The Sunken One. Once you've read the note, enter the next part of Sandstone Cavern through a wooden door in the same cavern as the chest and continue down the paths. Fairly soon, you'll reach a ravine where the body of Slythe Seringi is lying face down in the dirt. There are some enemies around him, so defeat them, and then loot Slythe's body. On the body, you can find and read the final page of Slythe's Journal. The journal entry details the final moments of Slythe's life. Defeating The Sunken OneRight after you're done reading the final journal entry and you exit from Slythe's inventory screen, you'll quickly be attacked by a large, shock Atronach called The Sunken One. The enemy is quite aggressive and comes quickly after you're done with Slythe, so be prepared for a fight. The Sunken One isn't particularly challenging, but you do need to watch out for its shock attacks, as they can damage your HP a good bit. After The Sunken One is defeated, you can loot its body for some meager Void Salts, but that's it. You can also choose to simply run past The Sunken One and leave Sandstone Cavern. Either way, once you leave the cavern, The Sunken One quest is complete in Oblivion Remastered. It's not a particularly rewarding quest, but it certainly takes you on an unsuspecting adventure.
