PS Store Drops New Free PS5, PS4 Game With Easy Platinum Trophy

PS Store has added a new free PS5, PS4 game that comes with an easy trophy list complete with the coveted Platinum. Date Z: Welcome to Massville High is a graphic adventure/visual novel of sorts, in which the Platinum trophy can be unlocked within an hour.

Date Z is free but it’s not PS Store shovelware, for a change

PS Store often gets free games with easy trophy lists, but most of them tend to be asset-flip puzzle games a.k.a. shovelware. Date Z is a pretty decent game with an actual story. How good that story is, is a separate matter, however.

“Step into the shoes of the newest senior at Massville High, where everything’s buzzing about a Friday that seems more important than any final exam,” reads an official description. “And you don’t want to be dateless when the day comes – even if no one quite knows what happens if you are.”

So, what’s the catch here? Well, it looks like developer We Dig Games figured out that hardcore trophy hunters don’t just want a shiny Platinum trophy, they want to make sure they unlock 100% of a given game’s trophies including DLC.

Date Z comes with quite a few additional premium “episodes,” each of which carry a trophy set. So, those who don’t like to see their trophy lists sit at 50% completion might not be happy with it. Others won’t mind simply stacking another Platinum trophy.
