Acclaimed PS4, PS5 Shooter Under $10 on PS Store Before Prequel’s Launch

The PS Store‘s Spring Sale continues to bring some truly amazing games at pretty serious discounts. Some of the best PS4 and PS5 titles are on sale right now, including this lauded first-person shooter, which will have its next entry released next month.

Doom Eternal is $9.99 on PS Store

Bethesda and id Software’s acclaimed first-person shooter Doom Eternal is currently $9.99 on the PS Store. That is a 75% discount off its typical $39.99 price tag. Eager demon slayers will want to act fast on this offer though. This price will only be available until April 10 at 2:49 A.M. ET.

“Hell’s armies have invaded Earth,” reads the description for the game. “Become the Slayer in an epic single-player campaign to conquer demons across dimensions and stop the final destruction of humanity. The only thing they fear… is you. Experience the ultimate combination of speed and power in Doom Eternal – the next leap in push-forward, first-person combat.”

When Doom Eternal launched back in 2020, it was met with generally favorable reviews. According to review aggregate site Metacritic, the game received an average score of 88 across 61 critic reviews. In our review, we gave the title a 10 out of 10 saying, “Doom Eternal is simply a really good game.”

Players who purchase this PS4 version of Doom Eternal get the PS5 version at no extra cost. Additionally, players who are certain they will enjoy the Doom Slayer’s most recent fight against Hell’s forces can grab both parts of its DLC, The Ancient Gods, at a discount. Each part is currently $7.99 on the PS Store, a 60% discount off its normal $19.99 price tag.

Doom Eternal is the second game in the modern Doom series which began with Doom (2016). The next installment, titled Doom: The Dark Ages, is a prequel to that first entry. It is set to launch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 15.
