Lift Scholarship Application is now Open!

Since 2010, The Linux Foundation has awarded more than 3,000 scholarships, valued at millions of dollars, to provide specialized technical training to individuals who may not be able to afford it otherwise. This program was renamed in memory of Shubhra Kar, the long-time CTO of The Linux Foundation, whom we sadly lost in early 2022. The Lift Scholarship program aims to enhance diversity in the open-source technology sector by granting free access to training courses and certification exams for deserving candidates. Categories for Application There are 16 categories available for applicants to choose from according to your experience: Open Source Newbie: Full-time college student studying IT, taking at least four college-level classes per semester. Open Source Tech Teen: Full-time student aged 16-19 who has begun using open-source technology. Women in Open Source: Women working as full-time IT professionals with open-source technology. Cloud Champion: IT professionals currently working in cloud-native technology, seeking certification. SysAdmin Super Star: System Administrators looking to advance their careers in open-source technology. Open Source Girl: Girls aged 16-19 who are full-time students eager to start an IT career through open-source technology. Open Source Volunteer Developer: Developers volunteering as IT professionals with community organizations or NGOs, working on open-source tools. Hyperledger Innovator: IT professionals utilizing Hyperledger technologies who want to advance their careers in the open-source industry through certification. Networking Innovator: IT professionals in full-time roles using open-source technologies, seeking additional training and certifications to advance their careers. Node.js Innovator: IT professionals currently working with open-source JavaScript and looking for further training and certifications to help their career growth.
