Exclusive: Moto Edge 70 Leaks Just Days After Edge 60 Launch — Motorola's Not Slowing Down
motorola edge 70 leak

Rounding out our trio of leaks today is the Motorola Moto Edge 70. This is next year’s Moto Edge smartphone, whose predecessor was just announced, literally last week. So this is incredibly early to see a render.

On the Moto Edge 70, we can tell that it will retain the curved edges, though this is not a quad-curved device, surprisingly. Since that’s what the trend is currently. It also retains the vegan leather back, with three actual cameras. Unlike the Moto G and Moto G Power that we leaked already today, the Moto Edge 70 will have three cameras you can actually use, meaning no ambient light sensor.

While we can’t exactly tell what cameras these are, Motorola did use a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 10-megapixel 3x telephoto, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide on the Moto Edge 60 that launched last month. We’re expecting the cameras to remain mostly the same here. Hopefully, we do see a nice upgrade for the telephoto, though.

The Moto Edge is typically a flagship-quality slab phone, but not the highest-end phone that Motorola sells. That would be the Edge Pro. So, for the Motorola Edge 70, we expect it to continue in the MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series, with perhaps an upgrade to the Dimensity 7400. There will also likely be a RAM upgrade here to 12GB across all of the storage variants, given the number of AI features they announced last month. The Edge 70 is definitely going to need that extra RAM.

When will the Moto Edge 70 launch?

We don’t know for sure, but companies do sometimes hide little easter eggs in their renders. By posting the date of the announcement on the render itself. Motorola does this to an extent as well. The Moto Edge 60 and Razr 60 series devices that were launched last week had the April 23 date on the device, despite the announcement actually being the following day. So with that logic, we could see the Moto Edge 70 launching on September 24. That would be a Wednesday, and a good time to launch these devices.

If Motorola does launch the Moto Edge 70 on September 24, or even in September in general, they are going to be going up against the new iPhone 17 series. If Motorola does that, then they must be very confident about competing with Apple.

However, on the other hand, that would be only 5 months after the Edge 60 series actually launched. Which is incredibly quick. Anything can happen between now and then, however.
