Learning React from an Angular Background

Hi! So, I have been working with Angular now for almost 2yrs, and for the past couple of weeks I have been trying to learn React by doing projects on the Frontend Mentor website. I am just wondering, to all the people out there that also came from an Angular background, for some reason, have also studied or learn react, what was your experience? Like, did you find it easier in learning React or is it a bit of a bumpy ride? Because, I have been searching for a while, and I almost always see comments saying that "React has easier learning curve than Angular", but for me, my first weeks were terrible. I don't know, am I alone in this?
