Summary: Samsung has restarted the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series of phones, following its pause of the update rollout earlier this week due to a critical bug that it discovered in the original software build.

The update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series that will bring it forward to One UI 7 appears to be starting back up after Samsung pulled the update back on April 14. Initially, Samsung began rolling out the update for last year’s Galaxy S24 series on April 7. Within a week, however, it had to stop the rollout due to a critical bug that was causing some pretty bad issues for users.

Samsung obviously needed to address this bug and fix it as soon as possible. Finally opening up about the reason for stopping the update, which turned out to be this bug. Now, fast forward another week, and Samsung is on track to bring the software to more Galaxy S24 users.

That being said, the update rollout won’t be immediate, and not all users are going to have access right away. That may not matter to most users, but it’s an important distinction to make in case users were expecting the update to show up on their device sooner rather than later.

The Galaxy S24 One UI 7 update is live for South Korea

As of right now, it appears that the One UI 7 update is only going live for the Galaxy S24 users in South Korea. This is Samsung’s home market, so it makes sense that the company would start there. Having said that, it shouldn’t be too long before the update rolls out to other regions, such as the US, Europe, and other parts of Asia.

As pointed out by SamMobile, this new build for the One UI 7 software comes with an entirely new build number, as expected, given there were changes. The build number, in particular, is listed as S928NKSU4BYD9.

You can manually check for the update

As with any major software update on an Android device, it’s possible to check for the update’s availability manually. Although this rollout is for South Korea, Tarun Vats on X does note that it will be rolling out to other regions soon. There isn’t any confirmation on when that might be exactly, but it could easily be sometime this week. So, with that said, you can manually check the update availability status from the settings menu.

Since this is One UI 7, that means the Galaxy S24 users who install it will be moving forward to Android 15. That should bring in some big changes, new features, and a few design differences too.
