Summary: Android 15 with One UI 7 is expected to start rolling out to the Samsung Galaxy S23 series as early as next week. April 22 was mentioned by a Canadian carrier, in a revised rollout plan. It is expected to start rolling out globally, not just in Canada.
Samsung’s initial rollout of One UI 7 did not go as well as planned. The company started rolling it out eariler this month to a handful of devices. Samsung had to halt the rollout soon after, due to some bugs. Samsung said that it wants to ensure the “best possible experience”, without delving deeper into reasons why it stopped rolling out the update.
One UI 7 could reach the Galaxy S23 series as early as next week
Based on reports, however, a nasty lockscreen bug may be to blame. Several other bugs appeared, though, including one related to battery drain. So… we’ll never know for sure, but Samsung did say that the rollout will continue soon. In fact, it may have happened already.
The Galaxy S24 series, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 have started getting the update initially. More devices have been announced to get the update in April. That includes the Galaxy S23 series that we’re here to talk about.
The information comes from a Canadian carrier
Users of the Galaxy S23 series devices could get Android 15 with One UI 7 as soon as next week. This information is based on a revised update roadmap from the Canadian carrier Telus. It states that the Galaxy S23 will start getting One UI 7 on April 22.
This will, of course, be a staged rollout. Chances are that it will start rolling out globally within a span of days, though, so you won’t have to wait for long. Well, unless a new bug pops up or something like that.
It’s also worth noting that the One UI 7 Beta Program for the Galaxy S23 kicked off in March this year. The Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are the devices expected to start getting stable One UI 7 on April 22.
